The Commission on the General Conference has announced that General Conference was further postponed until 2024. General Conference, originally scheduled for 2020, was rescheduled due to the pandemic to August 2022.
General Conference is normally a quadrennial gathering. This second postponement of General Conference is due largely to COVID restrictions coupled with complications around travel and time required to process visa applications for delegates outside the U.S. A significant number of GC delegates live outside North America.
A virtual format for General Conference was considered and determined not feasible.
