Robin Rue Simmons, who has been described as the architect of the City of Evanston’s reparations efforts, will preach during 10:30 am worship on February 27, the same day First Church gives a major gift toward the City of Evanston’s reparations work.
Rue Simmons served as alderperson from 2017-2021 for Evanston’s Fifth Ward where she was born and raised. Rue Simmons is the founder of a nonprofit that shares information and resources for reparations work; she has been recognized on a national level for her work.
