Housing/Zoning: What’s Happening, Why We Care, What We Can Do

by | Sep 6, 2026

Dining Hall

Please join us on November 8 after church in the dining room for lunch and a panel discussion about housing and zoning in Evanston. We will learn from experts, including our own Jonathan Nieuwsma, 4th Ward City Council Member; Shereemer Chevannes, Associate Director of Advocacy, Connections for the Homeless; and others who understand the impacts on people at all economic levels. Find out where we are in the process of developing new zoning codes, ask questions as to why we care about this seemingly arcane topic, and learn about ways you can affect the outcome.
