What is The Christian Experiment?
The Christian Experiment is a weekly gathering that creates community and explores faith-based questions.
What is cool about The Christian Experiment?
- There is no long-term commitment or sign-up. Come once or come weekly. It fits everyone’s lifestyle.
- You can choose your engagement. You can 1) read a book that complements weekly meetings over a period of time; 2) watch a video about the content of the week’s gathering; or 3) do NOTHING but show up and participate. Any engagement works for participation in The Christian Experiment.
- You will meet and engage with people at FUMC. How fun is that?
What can I expect if I attend a gathering of The Christian Experiment?
For the first six weeks, The Christian Experiment will explore stories many of us have read as children including Noah’s Ark, the binding of Isaac, Jonah and the big fish, Jesus and Zacchaeus, Jesus healing a blind man, and the parable of the talents. Each week we will explore a new story that reimagines and opens new visions to understand well-known pieces of Scripture in our current cultural environment. All of this will happen using content from Bible Stories for Grown Ups by Josh Scott.
