On Nov. 13, the focus of 10:30 worship is “How will we live our faith in this new chapter of the UMC?” Worship will feature youth, new adult members, and celebration of our congregation as a member of the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN). Helen Ryde, an organizer and staff member with RMN will serve as our guest preacher.
Helen was born and brought up in the UK and moved to the United States in 1998. Helen has been on the Organizing Team at RMN since 2012. Prior to RMN they worked as a VP in a financial services company and a special needs teacher. They have a post-graduate degree in secondary education from Canterbury Christ Church University. Helen was consecrated as a Home Missioner in the Order of Deaconess & Home Missioner in 2016.
Helen lives at Lake Junaluska in North Carolina with their spouse Kate and dog Bella. They love swimming in the lake and walking around it, and they aspire to stand-up paddle-board on it. They also love live music, playing pickleball, and meeting people for coffee or tea (let them know if you’re passing through Lake J!)
