First Church’s February 27 worship service and $50,000 gift toward reparations in the City of Evanston have caught the attention of individuals, organizations, and the media locally and nationally.

What seems to be most compelling to those who learn about this news is that a primarily white church has made such a generous gift to the work of reparations.   Of note as well is First Church’s intent to collaborate with other faith communities to  continue financial support for reparations in the City of Evanston.   The 2022 Easter offering has already been designated for that cause.
