For several years, First Church has sent teams of volunteers to assist with recovery following hurricanes and flooding. Emergency Response Teams (ERT) are certified through UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief) to provide a caring presence in the wake of immediate disaster. The ERT teams are followed by Disaster Response Teams that assist with rebuilding and repair as part of a long-term recovery effort.
