Toothbrushes and toothpaste will be distributed at Interfaith Action Evanston’s March 11 Producemobile\, located at the Robert Crown Community Center. Each month the Producemobile and SNAPGap serve 225-300 households with as many as 1\,260 people. \nChildren in grades 1-6 are invited and encouraged to step into service of our greater community on Sunday\, February 23 from 12:00-1:30 p.m.\, with lunch provided! DESCRIPTION:Our 2025 Winter Inquirers Class along with others in their households are invited to a Morning of Service on Saturday\, March 1\, 10-1:00pm. In the morning we will pack hundreds of diapers for Bundled Blessings diaper bank’s monthly distribution to families in and around Evanston through a dozen local social service agencies. At noon we’ll enjoy a casual lunch together in the dining room. Depending on our numbers and needs we may also make sack lunches that day for the Good News Shelter in Rogers Park. Good News provides transitional housing for women and children.

DESCRIPTION:Lent Contemplative Prayer Group In the 1960s\, the well-known Trappist monk\, Thomas Merton\, brought contemplative practice out of the cloister into the realm of ordinary people. In the 1970s\, Father Thomas Keating developed a form of contemplative practice called centering prayer; and John Main\, a Benedictine monk\, advocated a practice of contemplative meditation. We will be utilizing the small group format for contemplative practice outlined in the book “Where Two or Three Are Gathered” by Rev. Daniel Prechtel with an emphasis on lectio (reading)\, meditatio (meditation)\, oratio (prayer)\, and contemplatio (contemplation). The contemplative practice group will meet on Mondays\, March 10th – April 14th during Lent\, from 10:30am-11:30am on zoom and will be facilitated by Glynis Doyle and Maryellen Scott.
