DESCRIPTION:Ever had doubts? If you are like most\, you have. Ever had doubts about Christian faith? Many of us have. In a recent study at a leading United Methodist Church\, 95 percent of believers stated they struggle with doubt occasionally and 24 percent stated they struggle with doubt regularly. This same study also found that 44 percent believed their doubts helped them find or strengthen their faith. \nBeginning on January 5\, The Christian Experiment will discuss doubts. These doubts could be yours or someone you know. We will use some of Adam Hamilton’s work on doubt to help our discussions. DESCRIPTION:Compline Night Prayer Services Return\nOn Tuesdays beginning January 7th\, you are invited to a thirty minute Night Prayer Service to end your day in community and peace. These services from 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.\, available via Zoom\, are patterned after the ancient monastic tradition of Compline (meaning completion)–the final prayer of the day. We will follow a simple liturgical format for this service of quietness and reflection before rest. Persons of all ages are encouraged to give this spiritual practice a try. The zoom format invites participation from anywhere! We are enriched when family & friends in many locations join in. DESCRIPTION:Our 2025 Winter Inquirers Class along with others in their households are invited to a Morning of Service on Saturday\, March 1\, 10-1:00pm. In the morning we will pack hundreds of diapers for Bundled Blessings diaper bank’s monthly distribution to families in and around Evanston through a dozen local social service agencies. At noon we’ll enjoy a casual lunch together in the dining room. Depending on our numbers and needs we may also make sack lunches that day for the Good News Shelter in Rogers Park. Good News provides transitional housing for women and children.

DESCRIPTION:Learn a New Prayer Practice for Lent \nJohn Wesley encourages us to pray without ceasing. In our busy lives\, with so many distractions\, it can be difficult to keep to a regular prayer practice. Beads have been used by many faiths over the centuries as a meditative way to focus attention on prayers. Join us on Sunday March 2 to create a set of beads and learn about this ancient prayer practice just in time for Lent. We will meet in the dining room at noon.
